I havent seen this on here yet

As ive read alot of people are struggling with pull ups. what i find helps for me is a stronger grip on the bar (i currently use a golds bar from argos) by doing wrist curls it strengthans your forarms and wrists to cope with holding your bodyweight.

*text deleted* as i dont no how to add links go on you tube or bodybuilding.com to see a demonstartion

what do u guys think and has it helped anyone else.

thanks

A good back helps, By alternating pressup stances to widearm pressups, Will help build a a good back, which i find is key to getting more pullups,

Also the lat pull downs in the gym helps as this is basically the same movement as an over hand pull up. The weight can then be set to suit the individual. This exercise will strengthen all the muscles used for a pull up.

I also like priceys tip about strengthening your wrists as you'll be surprised how much easier it becomes with a better grip.

When i started training for the Royal Marines about 4 months ago i couldn't do one over hand pull i wouldn't have classed myself as weak, ive played rugby to international level for a number of years, but its all about specialising in a certain exercise or muscle group.

the bodyweight 500 is 500 reps of your own body weight in differant excercises ranging from press ups to pull up's, leg curls to tricep dips, its a intense workout only intended for serious circuit trainers. I have not attempted it yet, will do soon tho

google the bodyweight 500 its cool.or you tube will have it

Excuse me for being maybe a bit naive but I don't see the problem in pull ups? I've never had a problem doing plenty after an absolute shocking load of push ups or after a 6 mile run.

It's all in your mind if you want to do it you will, if you think ARGHHHH (blood sweat and tears go here) I can't do 1 then you don't deserve to do 1 and that's it.

Just to clarify on back-handed pull-ups: your thumbs must be out, legs uncrossed & you must be able to complete no less than 4 when attending PRMC.
