Hey guy i was wondering on how yuo go down the routes to becoming a sniper in the marines, i read that if you become a mountain leader you can do various skills including sniping, but is that the only route or are there other ways? Ive wanted to be a sniper fora while so am intrigued to the process, I know you have to be pretty good at navigation and field craft and oviously marksmanship... Cheers!

As far as I'm aware you can do the snipers course by it's self, although I believe it's quite a hard course to pass. I think most people have been in a couple of years before they attempt a snipers corse, but I'm sure Ninja can clarify...

I believe you have to serve for 2 years before you can specialise in sniping.

i heard that its not easy to apply for like any other specialisation you can do after your 2 years general service, apparently you also have to be a top marksman to even be considered.

Yep, that's the advice we would usually give, together with the fact you need to be recommended.

i dont think its part of the course, but i could be wrong, i seem to remeber reading that alot of them are snipers and its easier to get in if you are one. but again just what ive read, but im sure ninja can clarify.
