i am going to try out for the marines but from august i am going travelling to australia fo a few months.


i just need some advice on weather i would be best to go see my afco now and get all medical, interview ect done now and do prmc when i come back if this is possible or would i have to start the process when i come back from austrailia?

You can start or stop the selection process at any stage & defer your entry date if you do not wish to join before a certain date as long as you let your AFCO know.

Any elements of the selection process which are "time expired" will need to be re-taken before the selection process can move forward.

Validity of each element from the date the separate item was completed as follows, in the order they usually occur:

Recruiting Test 3 years
Selection Interview 6 months
Medical examination 12 months
PJFT 12 months
PRMC 12 months
Security Clearance 12 months

You are advised to enter the selection process before you go, so that if you do not pass an element of selection you then know where you stand & whether it is something that you can address. (Such as fitness, academic ability, etc.,)
