You can download your very own Recruit Handbook here:
Ninja is there a version of this for potential officers?
I've not seen one.
The recruit handbook is usually issued in hard copy to those passing PRMC. For those passing POC they still have to pass AIB and be selected, so I'm guessing an Officer version doesn't exist (happy to be corrected).
Much of the content will be equally valid for Officers.
There is one but you only get it when you start at CTC, I've had a look through one and they are literally AIB bibles.
Not seen it to be honest. Just asked our ACLO (RM) and he doesn't recall seeing one - have you got a copy you can scan the front cover and post?
No, one of the guys on my POC was given an outdated one by his friend on the batch while we were there. I can get a photocopy of the cover? It had all the details for the 15months in it, programme at the end showing every exercise in different colours, guide to various things and protocols in it, maps of CTC, lists of acronyms etc.
Cheers, appreciated - if you could have a look if there's a number prefixed by the letters "CP" (careers publication) on the reverse it would be handy. I suspect it is now out of print.
I will ask him to look.
Top line - thanks for that - I'll do some digging.
The RN logo looks fairly recent is there an issue date on it I wonder?
Just been having a quick look at the handbook, for which many thanks.
I did notice a couple of things don't seem to apply any more (£200 advance ahead of pay), some kit list requirements and wondered if there is a more up to date version available anywhere.
I've not seen a newer addition, but I'll certainly ask the question.
You are correct, the advance of pay (loan) no longer applies.
The recruit handbook has now been updated (July 2015)
The download above is now out of date but serves as a rough guide. If we are permitted to use the new edition we will post it on this thread.
Does anyone know how to get hold of a copy of the above officers handbook, electronic or otherwise?
@Ninja_Stoker was anyone ever able to get an electronic copy of this particular handbook. Feel like it would be really useful!
Think I've got an old electrinic version of the ratings one (6MB) but not been able to get the Officer one.
Perhaps @RMDO can assist?
