Ninja, it's Sunday, was 8:07 when you posted this. You need a hobby mate ;].

Good post though, no doubt it will be very useful to those new to, or about to start the application process.

If you went to court & incurred a fine, then for those over 18, an application cannot be processed for 5 years under normal circumstances. If it was a spot fine, once paid, it's considered spent. You need to talk direct to your AFCO.

The rehabilitation period is determined by the penalties & very often people will state they were fined, as that's the bit that hurt, but neglect to mention any other penalties.

Only recenly I spoke to a guy who said he was "fined" for drink drive - it later turned out the car was stolen, crashed & he was sentenced to 6 months in prison - a bit different to a fine.

    Best of luck.

It depends on the nature of the offences, the number of offences, the sentences & the rehabilitation periods from date of conviction, depending on age when convicted.

Suspended custodial sentences carry the same rehabilitation period as actual custodial sentences.

Custodial sentences over 30 months, multiple offences against the person or convictions with regard class A drugs or any conviction involving intent to supply drugs can sometimes be a bar to entry so the best bet is to discuss your status with your nearest AFCO, link below.

    Best of luck.

    Question for Ninja

Hi Ninja, I was just wondering if you had any idea of the expected wait time for starting RT on completion of PRMC?

At present those passing PRMC last week can realistically expect a January/February start date.

Interestingly, one of 'my' candidates, who passed PRMC in May, allocated an entry date in January, has just been offered a start date on 5th September.

Hi Ninja, does it usually take a year and a half for Off Island people to be recruited?
