So I've done my interview and all the tedious stuff but my afco said he wants me to attend something called 'RMAD' before he puts me through for a spot on PRMC. He mentioned it was essentially a phys session but I was wondering what specifically they have you doing as its a few hours long?

Just a day 2 of prmc in one day with a few PTIs get some good knowledge from them do a RMFA and BFT see how you do and then get a PRMC booked. I have done two at 40 commando in Taunton.

If you prefer running on road than a treadmill then it's good.

So. It's more likely your Careers Adviser would like you to attend a Royal Marines Acquaint Day to affirm your readiness to attend a PRMC - assuming you have passed the medical & PJFT?

Many AFCOs conduct RMADs on a monthly basis, so if you feel you are ready to take and pass a PRMC - just ask your Careers Adviser to book your PRMC on the first available date AFTER the RMAD - you can then either confirm your readiness or defer.

The RMAD is NOT a mandated part of selection & is there for you, not your AFCO, so you can gauge your readiness to take a PRMC and make an informed decision.

Generally, your AFCO will send you a letter/email to confirm you are booked on an RMAD and the communique should detail the content of the day. It's usually a BFT & RMFA with maybe a determination test thrown in for good measure.

There are heaps of threads about the RMAD.....

Had mine the other day really good fun. Just a wee tip we had a sheet given to us syaing what the day would involve but it never mentioned a determination test. We did the test after the RMFA so we were all already knackered.

My son did a couple of these and found them really helpful. Lots of useful tips and advice.
