    Afternoon gentleman,

Please can someone confirm recruit start dates for RMR London and how often they are ? And can confirm that BFT before attending PRMC is a 3miler held at the local unit ? And how manageable is RMR with everyday life, what’s it like after 18months of rigorous training.

    Many thanks gentlemen

Most units have one Recruit Troop starting in late Sept/Oct each year.

RMR Recruit Training involves one or two training weekends each month & a couple of weeks for RFCC & Live Firings. After successfully completing training RMR Other Ranks need to be aware around 40 personnel a year will be mobilised and employed for up to 12 months in a regular service Commando unit.

Potential RMR Recruits are advised to apply no later than July in order to complete selection, ready for PRMC - which is identical to a regular service PRMC and undertaken at Lympstone.

RMR applicants now undertake the PJFT, same as their regular service counterparts - ie, a treadmill run.

RMR London has its Induction Weekend on the first weekend of August and then follows on from that in the first week of September after summer. So this years troop had their first weekend a few weeks back and are back again this weekend for their second. Weekends are generally one in about every three I'd say, with the intensity massively increasing towards the end Phase 1 Alpha and then again towards the end of Bravo.

RMR is definitely manageable but it will have a big impact upon your social life, particularly during Bravo Phase as you'll be so focused on keeping your fitness up to scratch. You'll need to accept that you'll probably have a rather boring life for a few months that consists of working, training and training weekends. Just need to remember it isn't forever.

I believe Lympstone Det begin their RMR RT troop in April 2020 and not this Sept (now) like most other dets. Unsure if this is all of Bristol or just Lympstone.

This is true of all RMR Bristol dets. PRMC(R)s are held December, Jan, Feb, Mar and RT commences in April as far as I am aware.
