Rope Climbs?

The local community gym has fitted 4 x 25ft ropes to an iron beam in the weights room, thick safety mates as well.
Planning to start them once I can do >5 pull-ups (for safety and that!)
Anyone else have access to rope-climbing facilities? Any workout suggestions or tips?

Many Cheers

If you are going to use ropes prior to rt learn the proper technique. Trying to unlearn bad habits and re-learn proper form will cause you untold headaches. Also, welcome to tendonitis!

I did 3 years in a youth circus so rope climbing is no problem (obviously i havent tried it with boots/webbing) but a quick technique tip is make sure you use all your muscles not just arms, many people do this and get absolutely destroyed by the time they reach the top. So yeh learn the correct technique with equal if not more leg muscle being used

Cheers for the tips. Will adhere to marine form, as seen in videos of PT sessions. Think there's an ex-bootie who goes to the gym so hopefully he'll be kind enough to correct it if it's wrong.
