Ninja, I dont know much about the old land rovers or about roadside bombs, but these have a much higher ground clearance by the looks of it. Still, completly unprotected like you said.

Just noticed the picture on the News feed "Jackal packs awesome punch" (three posts up from this one).

The one on the MoD Oracle site seems to have side armour around the driver, so it seems the original comments were noted!

Doubtless some medical chap will try to monopolise it with some excuse or other, but a cup of tea is a very British/Commonwealth thing.

I'm no expert but why doesn't the vehichle have some sort of defense for the soldiers? There's no protection?

The guy at the top could easily be shot or does that not happen?

Well if it is *text deleted* replace landies as fast moving fire support then being shot at in that is about as safe as being in a landrover. Except that whoever is shooting at you is going to get a torrent of fire back at them.
