Developed shin pain roughly 7 weeks ago on and off, stupidly ran through it at times when i should of stopped. Went and saw a specialist and he reckoned it was down to my Glutes not firing leading to the pain and also my calfs could do with being a bit stronger. Took a good 6 weeks off running doing glute activation exercises daily as well as calf strengthen exercises, icing 2-3 times a day I'm finding myself with a like dull aching pain in my shins on and off during the day, by no means really painful but more of an annoyance. Wondering other peoples experiences with over coming shin splints etc time it took to heal, and what they did to help. Really frustrating time at the minute beacuse i just want to be pushing on but being held back by these shins Bit of a long one but any input would be great.
