GD Drivers? I thought 30 was primarily specialists.
Couldn't agree more. As far as I understand part of the new FCF model is to send lads straight out of training to 30/43/CLR for 2 years in order for the lads at 43 to gain more experience in their role as a rifleman, and the lads at 30/CLR to gain a deeper understanding of the function of a unit and the G4 chain.
Then after these 2 years, they get drafted to 40/42/45 for 3 years, where they will complete FCF continuation training before joining a company.
If it does work like that I think it would be massively beneficial however these lads that are just passing out now are being put into this new model before it's complete, which probably means that this won't happen to them and if they don't manage their careers well they'll be in the firing line for a double shafting.
I can't assume what the new Corps will look like in a year or two's time, but as it stands lads will not be learning the trade at 30/CLR. They need to spend time in a fighting company, not with lads all threaders at being pinged for CLR. I can't see it as a positive at this moment in time. We were told lads passing out after October would get two years at their first draft. "Sounds great... Hang on! Im at CLR "
Shame none of your troop got 45. By far the best unit.
Don't let any beefers on here tell you different.
They probably got the choice between 45 and CLR, and sensibly chose to become loggies.
We’ve all been ashore in Arbroath....what can’t be unseen
I heard 284 troop's training team were the best ?
I heard that rumour...
They were alright... Didn't thrash us enough
