There's a high chance of getting pinged regardless. However, once you complete the Return of Service you can change to one that you really want. Serving guys on the forum will give you the more up to date info on things.

What was your SQ in the Aussie army?

I was in Signals, from what I've read on here Signals doesn't seem to be a very popular SQ.

Sigs has never been a popular SQ! Although I have to say there are quite a large number who have enjoyed their time in that branch.

You could use your experience to your advantage. Accept the ping, work hard and promote quickly, then get across to the specialisation you want.

It's not that popular over in the Aussie Army either although it does give you a lot of opportunities to work with different corps and the other branches. My plan is to go the Signals Specialisation if I can.
