Alrite Mate,

I think you apply for what you want to do in a Specialisation after Two years service i think

Good Luck with your PRMC coming up mate

Hows the training coming along with 2 weeks to go?

its only 1 year of general duties you have to do now, and yes you can choose what specialisation you can do but some of the good ones have limited places and a waiting list.

Hi

Thanks for replying. Training going ok. Near where i live we have massive sand dunes. Been running up and down today dragging weights behind me, legs are burning up. Just trying to prepare myself as best i can.

thanks Gareth

I would say get rid of the weights and increase the distance, running with weights could end in injury but the dunes must be awesome for your endurance.

I know a marine who passed out when he was 16/17 and not old enough to go out to a warzone and he was allowed to do some specialisation courses early. I think he joined FPGRM, nearly went on a snipers course and is doing heavy weapons training so yes you can specialise before your GD 1 year.

I live in Rumney, it's like 15 minutes down Newport Road from the City Centre. I used to go to Maindy pool quite a bit, we should train sometime.
