...Endurance Essentials for the Great Outdoors.

Anyone seen this?
Saw it in W H Smith the other day so I got it off the internet for cheap,
it's a big book,
got over 300 pages in it,
7 main sections - 1. Before you go, 2. On the trail, 3. Camp craft, 4. Taking shelter, 5. Shelter and food, 6. In an emergency, 7. First aid.

It basically covers everything from gutting an animal to making your own snow shoes,
looks like it's full of useful information,
and although I doubt I'll end up in the Arctic or the Desert,
until I'm in the Marines,
it's still pretty interesting,
and some things are useful for a casual camping trip in Wales.

I have just started reading this book. I came across with some factual errors. I am not sure what else might be wrong that I might not know due to lack of prior knowledge. Nevertheless it’s been a good read so I just keep reading it.

Which factual errors?

Ignore me, please delete the above post because it's embarrassing. At least it's a lesson I will never forget.

No problem. Always best to ensure we fully understand something before attempting to correct it. As you say lesson learnt

Yes indeed, sometimes mistakes are needed to realise that. It was a humbling experience for sure. I am not even going to mention that I emailed the publisher company and told them that the northings and eastings got swapped in the book...

As long as you didn't sign the email Chelonian it's okay. :)

I am writing them an email and ask for forgiveness for my stupidity.
Don't worry about it. Even if you were correct they'd probably disregard it.

The training value is understanding that we can all fool ourselves into seeing something which isn't there, particularly when tired. No shame in asking an oppo to check a GR.
