    Friedman Economics > Keyesian Economics

Check out Milton Friedman. Plenty of YouTube stuff on him. He is good for the soul.

According to all my left wing mates most soldiers are "terrorists", being patriotic is an awful thing, all right wing people are nazis and racist automatically cause they're right wing and terrorism isn't a big threat today and if we open our borders terrorism still won't occur here.

The irony being that Hitler was a socialist.

Problem is it’s all about knee jerk politics, keep the population stupid and keep them easily manipulated with identity politics and outrage tactics. Mob rule in the direction they want.

Maybe I am misremembering, I haven’t read about him in a while.

From what I see its a common thing, socialists claimed his name and called themselves Keynesian socialists and he hated that, he referred to himself as a capitalist.

In academia? Holding right-wing views is taboo! I’m often called the typical -isms due to my unflinching patriotism of this country and my commentary of where it’s going. But, groups like common purpose etc. have infected our institutions with cultural Marxism and this has manifested itself into organisations that pro-actively push socialist narratives on us.

While polar opposites, capitalism and socialism work in tandom. Capitalism brings the money to us, to a place we can reach it. Socialism spreads it round to a place the majority can spend it. Then we start again. Have capitalism for too long, the poor take the wealth from the rich. Have socialism too long, everyone starved together. Russian history is a perfect example of both of these effects. History holds the key to all knowledge. Big winston said something like that.

I disagree. And why should Socialists spread everyone else’s money around?

Wealth isn’t a constant, it’s constantly moving you go up, down, left and right. Socialism “works” until you run out of someone else’s money.

Socialism just creates a huge divide between rich and poor and doesn’t bridge the two. So there is no mobility and no way to change your outcome.
And it’s not just Russian history, it’s been tried in so many countries and it constantly and consistently fails. And for those that say “that’s not real socialism” watch the above video with Jordan’s Peterson.

Equality of opportunity is not the same as equality of outcome.

There’s plenty of videos on YouTube of people in America that have lived in socialist regimes arguing with rich, spoilt, middle class students praising the very regimes they had escaped.

History has already spoken volumes about Socialism.

Never really understood seeing >25s students arguing with a 50 year old who actually experienced a totally socialist state.

I agree with most of your points, however I would say that the real issue with socialism is that it relies more entirely on the people. Capitalism works regardless.
Socialism on the other hand, requires both that no one piggybacks (eg benefits scrounging bleeps) and no one ditches out (eg tax avoiders). It needs everyone to buy in.

But I suppose, much like communism, a system that ignores human nature is no system at all.

*text deleted*ing idiots that don't know how to use indicators:mad:

People who don't say thanks if you hold the door open for them as if you're some sort of peasant who is required to do so.

People who have loads of friends/followers on facebook/twitter (90% of whom they don't actually know and just added them anyway) and seem to think theyre popular and have some sort of celebrity status due to this, w*nkers.

    Hi guys,
Just a quick rant i have recently just passed out of phase 1 at Winchester and while home my girlfriend has not been paid of her boss at work and has been getting bullied at work so my girlfriend asked me to go with her to try sort the issues in a civil way and her boss was really disrespectful and to me. The question i wanted to ask and rant was how do you guys deal with outside issues and how do you refrain from basically hurting people when they are horrible ?

    I can relate to this!
The Valleys to Cardiff Central line, for example. Trains are filthy, conductors are rude, and they charge for a service!

Furthermore, why are there only two carriages from Chester to Milford Haven? It's bollocks

They say actions speak a thousand words, that's not always the case
If you choose your words correctly, you can argue much more effectively than just beating them to sh!t

Unfortunately you have no legal standing with the employer and he can be as disrespectful as he likes.

Best way to is go above them. Email everything so there is a paper trail, either you or your GF request a copy of the employee handbook, request a copy of the grievances/bullying policy and procedure.
There is no legal requirement for an employer to have one, but the request in paper/email format will be a hard copy of evidence in the event of a tribunal. Plus it means you can read it and use it “against” them.

Get your GF to keep a diary of what was said, who and when.

Make sure there is a paper/email/text message showing that your GF has approached her employer with said problems and keep the response.

Then go above their manager and email/paper a request for action with a grievance. Keep a copy and CC the works HR department and the manger in question. Stating you haven’t had a satisfactory solution through the above means, and that the resulting stress and lack of pay is having a knock on effect and you may result in taking legal action against the employer to pay for any fees incurred by not being paid.

Best thing to do for you. Is not get involved, support your GF and help her from home, but going to her work could be deemed as threatening behaviour and they could use it against you and try and make you lose your temper and take the wrong course of action.

It’s not worth losing your career and ruining your future to get physically involved unless there is a physical threat to you or your GF.

Sorry was just ranting and asking advice at the same time....does it not annoy you how its seems like everyone's out to screw you over in life outside the military and i know I've only just passed out of phase 1 and cant really call myself a proper soldier yet. Just how you can go from this world where pretty much everyone has your back to coming home on leave and its like a totally different world and trying to control yourself is hard. Again apologies for the ranting.

The 29 year-old is on £8.65 an hour and said he paid extortionate rent and worked in a "physically and emotionally" exhausting job. A rise to £10 an hour would "give me an opportunity to pay off debts".“

Wind your neck in lofty. Firstly you think serving a few people is “physically and emotionally” exhausting? What about the men and women that have to scrape up kids off the road, or drag people out of burning buildings, or give junkies life saving aid for them to continue to throw their lives away, or be assaulted for upholding the law.
You chose to rent that flat, if you couldn’t afford it, you should have chosen somewhere else.
And we all know you won’t “pay your debts off” you will piss it up the wall or snort it on the Friday night trying to give your life some sense of meaning and escape the average 9-5 boring life you lead. Bet he has the latest iPhone or smart device.

You make sacrifices. You sacrifice short term happiness for a long term goal.

You want a pay rise to put you on par if not better than the public services that are working harder than you ever would understand.

    You waste of oxygen.

Let’s take Fred. Fred is an ambulance technician. He’s paid 20,400 (and that’s a huge round up)
On an average week, the EU directive dictates a 40 hour working week.
    40x52= 2080.

    That’s 2080 working hours a week.

    20,400/2080 = 9.8

And you want to earn more for taking someone’s order than the guy that’s cracking a shift pattern that strains family relationships and saves lives?
