Hi everyone, I was just wondering from application to PRMC how much time do I have to prepare? Also when will I complete my PJFT?

How long is a piece of string?

it will all dependent on your availability, the assessors availability, whether you encounter any issues with medicals, etc. I’ve known them be done in 6 weeks and others as long as more than 6 months.

the PJFT was shelved. Has this been brought back in again?

A lot of application I would say was down to your afco and yourself if you are fit and ready to go there will be nothing stopping you
Go for it if you are ready you can defer until you are ready

Cheers guys, as there is one PRMC for reserves each year, I’m assuming I’ll miss the PRMC this year for Bristol?

Realistically you would have missed their intake as RT was usually starting around this time.

I would contact the Unit/local Det and get on their radar. Once you are- they might have holding troop, which you can attend once you pass Medical (unless this has changed).

which Det are you looking to join?

All PRMC's are at CTC now. No PRMCR

Potential nods are loaded onto the regular PRMC? Makes a lot of sense.

Though lads still can’t join a troop until the units RT starts, so I wouldn’t rush but definitely give you more opportunity - though wouldn’t leave it until the last minute

For full time RT, on average it takes 8 months for the application. On my PRMC there were some chaps from South Africa who had waited almost 2 years.

RMR doesn’t usually take that long, but with the in takes being annual no great shakes if it did.

I would say 4-6months is average with leaning on the AFCO and no issues. But as you say one complication and you could be waiting and waiting, especially if it’s medical issue.
