Is it true you get issued running trainers when you start RT?

Do you have to use the issued pair? Can you not just use your own?
Seems like the sort of thing that should be optional.

No you have to use the ones they give you, you can't use your own. :notrust:

Well that takes the piss, they dont even look like they'd support my insoles, and the base of the shoe looks like it's *text deleted**text deleted* support...

apparently you cant use your own because of insurance reasons!..likewise you can't use your boots etc..maybe after week 15 you can who knows?

I'm not so sure it's to do with that.

Bit unfair if someone can only afford a £30 pair of trainers, and you turn up in £700 rocket shoes or something.

For the boots, I think the logic is that they want to prove you can meet the standards in the issue. If you're on operation at some remote forward base in Afghanistan and your boots fall apart, they won't be able to get your tailor fitted gucci boots sent to you, it'll just be the standard issue boot.
