Training for PRMC.

I'm going to start training for PRMC and I did my first 1.5 mile run (haven't been running in ages) this morning and got a time of roughly 9 minutes, so aside from the 3 miler, what else would you suggest training and any specific training plans?

Running/swimming/circuit training/cycling/weight training
