Do you think they'll be a recce unit operating at Brigade level? similar to Pathfinders Platoon but Company sized instead.
Also the guy at the end had an SA80 so most likely an Army Commando? maybe they're Tri-Service or open to any Commando Trained ranks

All of them had SA80s. SA80 is still the standard weapons system for the Royal Marines.

The vanguard strike company is nothing new, its just a new name. At first it was Ex Cougar, then it was JEF(M) and now its the vanguard strike company. The corps has always had a company strength of blokes rotate through stints in the middle east (gulf of Oman) conducting exercises with our partners in that region.

It's certainly not a recce unit, just a normal company from a normal commando unit doing the same large scale exercises we have been doing for years.

Everything about this video is just bog standard normality! The reporter wasted her breath and so did the bloke being interviewed.

No. It’s a normal commando unit (all said and done).
The lads all had SA80 s because that is the standard weapon. However C8 s are trying to be rolled out but I can’t see this happening for years. At the moment it’s a case of borrowing kit from wherever we can to do the job at hand. Until the govt pays the money it’ll stay this way.

no cuff too though....
