Hello everyone

I currently have an untreated inguinal hernia and was set to have it operated on in April, but due to COVID it was cancelled until further notice. I am absolutely itching to apply and as soon as the hernia is treated I will! However, I imagine there is some form of waiting period before you can apply if you have gone under the knife. Question is, does anyone know if this is true, and if so, how long I can be expecting to wait before I can apply?
Thanks in advance.

In most cases, following surgery a recovery period of 3-12 months (depending on procedure) must elapse before an individual may be passed fit for entry.

Different surgical procedures and different types of hernia can affect medical suitability but in any event, candidates with repaired and soundly healed herniae, of a type which is not an outright bar to future service, will need to be able to tolerate activities comparable with military training/service over a minimum period of 3 months - ie: require a training diary after surgery.
