Warm down

As important as it is, do enough of you warm down?
i know im a bit lazy when it comes to this and normally just get straight into the shower. i dont really know what to do when it comes to warming down...

What do you all do? Stretch off etc etc? a heads up would be ideal so i know how to go about properly warming down if any of you has any tips/methods..

Yeah definately warm down - I forgot yesterday and now ache in muscles that I didn't know existed!

When you're young you can't allways see the point in warming down, but as you get older you get less elastic and then warming down/stretching really is in your interests.

My warm down depends on what excercises i have been doing. If it's a run, then gradually bringing the heart rate down by slow jog --> walking, with lots of slow static stretches of the leg muscles mainly. That seems to do the trick.

If it's an upper body work out then a similar thing i guess. Gradual stretch off of all the muscles groups that have been used.

Then eat some protein rich food and e.g a banana and have a shower.
