The media is constantly reporting on the tanker situation with Iran. Each report stepping up the rhetoric and inflaming the situation.

Step back, as the old saying goes 'Stop rest and think'.

Perhaps the simple expedient of apologizing by the UK and releasing the tanker held in Gibraltar waters?
It takes a 'big man' to admit a mistake.

Whats the alternative?
A 'proxy war' fueled by the Trump 'administration'?

Wars are easy to start but difficult to stop. At the cost of how many human lives!

Iran's national security is largely secure, she is more at risk from assassination and hacking than any physical assaults. The distances are just too great and the variables to many for her to unduly worry.
These are the toughest U.S. sanctions ever imposed on Iran. Shipping companies struggle to navigate around the legal minefield of paying taxes/insurances without being in breech of US sanctions.

The Middle East is about as far from the United States as it is possible to be, and projecting American power in the region is expensive and depends on what are, even in today’s globalised environment, fragile supply lines. Is it time for America to accept that its interests are now strategic rather than global?
Let’s face it much of Middle Eastern oil mostly flows eastwards now.

Wait for Boris to come in, let the Iranian tanker crack on and put the blame on the amateur Theresa May and her cronies. Problem solved, all will be forgotten within a week or two.

Ideal opportunity with a new PM to quickly draw a line under this mess with little loss of face.
