hi, i would like to know whether its more suitable to be doing lighter weights but loads of reps rather than heavy weights with fewer reps. Is this how you develop muscular endurance and strength better?

Generally speaking -

Higher reps (15+) will develop muscular endurance.

'Strength' is best improved by using heavier weights for lower reps.

I take it you are new to lifting ? If so stick to lightweights and higher reps to begin with to learn the correct tecniques / prevent injury.
