Good eyesight probably.

Also the ability to pretend to be a tree for days on end.

As pointed out there's plenty of interest in this specialisation and lots of old threads. Probably best just to concentrate on becoming an RM for now if that's what you want. Best of luck.

Hope I didn't come across as putting you down. While it's good to have ambitions I recon wanting to be a sniper, SF or whatever is something I would keep quiet about until closer to the time of it actually happening. I'm glad I didn't tell everyone I was going to join the Royal Marines for instance!

Joining the army instead to learn a trade after failing PRMC, twice. I still like reading the forum though.

Interestingly the role of Sniper attracts much attention. The reality however is very different!

Keep visiting mate. It's good to see other lads give advice. We all have to make our own path.

What capbadge did you go for?

Cheers @ThreadpigeonsAlpha
Royal engineers. Waiting to start training. Interestingly no one I have told about joining the millitary has noticed I've stopped saying I'm off to Royal Marines training and started saying Royal Engineers training instead so no loss of face there.

At PRMC during the armoury talk were told about how expectations of sniping could drastically differ from reality.
