What if you don`t make it through recruit training?? what plans have you got???

this questions isn`t to start a slagging match, nor is it to get 50 people replying saying they will NEVER quit and they WILL get the green lid!!

the facts are that the RM is very tough to get in and even tougher to get to the end, as seen on commando on the front line, 6 originals passed out as original and 26 all together (think the numbres are right) out of 50 or so to begin with.

I know loads of lads that haven`t bothered to much at school with GCSE or going to college etc becasue the were going in the marines, unfortunatley a good number of them had to come out for one reason or another and wished they`d had a few more options.

so "after my declaration of peace", what plans have people got??? just in case???

Its something i have given quite alot of thought to as try to be as realistic as poss. Before my application I had been working as an estate agent and done fairly well for a young man, but the thought of spending the rest of my life in an office based job being spoke to like a piece of *text deleted**text deleted* by *text deleted**text deleted* depresses me no end (and before anyone says if you dont like getting spoke to like a bit *text deleted**text deleted*, how do you think you'll pass out of training, Its a bit different). I've given serious thought to the paramedic service. Would be a great varied, interesting career, alot of training involved, a huge challenge, and a great achievment.

Failure is not an option for me but if it came to the worse I'd go back to freelance webdesign as I know I can make double the minimum wage by working in the morning and then going kayaking in the afternoon.

I was talking about this earlier today, and if not the Marines then I'd certainly look at some other public service job - I quite fancy the Coast Guard, 'rescue swimmer', one of those nutters that goes down on the end of a rope to sinking ships, or if the weather is too rough, jumps in! I haven't looked into it too much, just seen all the clips on 'World's Most Amazing Videos'.
