Know it's not directly applicable but what's everyone's opinion on that. Speaking from no experience it does seem to leave a lot of positives unanswered, also focuses on a very narrow circumstance.

Load of outdated and over blown, over hyped, manipulated *text deleted*.

At the very bottom it says:
"Don’t Join the Army’ is a project of Veterans For Peace UK. It is a response to the Army’s consistently misleading and exploitative recruitment campaigns aimed at young people."
But Don't become a killer, Don't go to War, Don't get PTSD, Don't become a casualty and Don't die young all 5 of these are things, although obviously not a feature of recruitment campaigns, are things that "young people" especially those who are thinking of joining the infantry will have considered or at the very least be made aware of during basic training the "Realities of War" package in RM training for example. Don't get left behind is very specific to those who join with no qualifications or those who join under 18 but they don't seem to consider the fact that "young people" with no quals that decide to join up might be bettering their life chances getting away from a future life of crime/gangs as well as the opportunities to gain qualifications through specialists roles in engineering etc within the army. That leaves "Don't lose your rights." "Don't Follow Orders." "Don't become a hater." and "Don't get sexually abused." which I can't really speak for since I have no experience within a military environment but as TPA says it seems outdated. Overall a:

What an absolute pile of dung!

I cannot believe that I have just wasted 5 minutes of my life reading it!

Want to know what's glorifying war? Computer games, films, etc. joining the forces, there is not illusion, especially after the "realities of war" lecture. We had a few leave after it.

We all make our choices in life. What would you rather do? Sit on a check out for 30 years? Aye good one. I would rather live 1 year as a tiger, than 30 as a sheep.

People’s opinions can differ depending on the information they have and how they view a particular situation.

“An old Marine Pilot sat down at the Starbucks, still wearing his old USMC flight suit and leather jacket and ordered a cup of coffee.

As he sat sipping his coffee, a young woman sat down next to him. She turned to the pilot and asked, 'Are you a real pilot?'

He replied, 'Well, I've spent my whole life flying planes, first Stearmans, then the early Grummans... flew a Wildcat and Corsair in WWII, and later in the Korean conflict, Banshees and Cougars. I've taught more than 260 people to fly and given rides to hundreds, so I guess I am a pilot, and you, what are you?

She said, 'I'm a lesbian. I spend my whole day thinking about naked women. As soon as I get up in the morning, I think about naked women. When I shower, I think about naked women. When I watch TV, I think about naked women. It seems everything makes me think of naked women.'

The two sat sipping in silence.

A little while later, a young man sat down on the other side of the old pilot and asked: "are you a real pilot?"

He replied, 'I always thought I was, but I just found out I'm a lesbian.' “

I'm not going to lie, I did get a couple of belly laughs towards the end of the page.

I'm mean, it's obviously not supposed to be funny, but the bullet points under the; Don't be a hater, sub section, were of particular amusement.

Fantastic read. 8/10. I can completely imagine the soldier that wrote this being on the receiving end of every single one of those orders. For that to happen he must've been an utter legend of a man.

Drive into a shed?

They linked a video to a prominent anti-war Vet that was in the SAS. But clearly, he managed to get through Para selection, training, Unit life in the Paras, SF Selection and a career in the SAS before suddenly having an epiphany and deciding that it was all not worth it.

However, the rest of the article is just passive-aggressive shite written by blokes that were probably terrible soldiers and had terrible careers.

Individual experiences may vary.

Any job has its done sides. Yea you have sh!t details in the corps. Trust me you have that in any company.

I have bounced round a few jobs before and after the Corps and there is sh!t jobs in any job or industry. Only difference is? Civvies will back stab you for a promotion, the lads in the corps have a similar mindset and you make some awesome mates, and you work hard, play harder.

Life is what you make of it. Not just your job. You can sit around like a limp wristed, wet lettuce, SJW, Whiney, crybaby, lefty, snowflake and demand other people do stuff for you, or expect people to do things for you, or for opportunities to come to you, but life ain't like that fella's. You need to get out and make life your b!tch. Roll with the punches, pick yourself up and bash on regardless, make your own opportunities, if you don't, then life will make you its b!tch.
Oh boo hoo you could die! You could walk in front of a bus and get smeared across the road. You don't think you might die everytime you get in your car.
You can't walk around life worrying about what's going to kill you.

I would rather die on my feet, than live on my knees.

Well said, I would rather die doing something I love than something I hate.
