    Awaiting selection after AIB pass
    Hello lads,

Hope training / applications are going well for everyone. I have recently passed AIB and am now awaiting the FSB.

Does anyone know a rough number of how many may be going for the YO batch this year? I've also heard rumours of the batch size being 55 this year, can anyone confirm?

Thanks and best of luck to all!

@pofwales24 My POC date was confirmed this week as the 27th to 30th May. Not entirely sure if this is the final one though. Hope this helps.

My ACLO told me it was only 40 this year but they've been known to give out dodgy info on these kinds of things.

Last time I checked (two weeks ago), AIB advised May POCs were fully booked and AIB advised the only chance of a May POC is a cancellation. To be fair, people drop out or wirhdraw almost daily.

Not sure they have any additional courses planned, they have stated there are no plans, but the Corps usually wants to see a surplus of eligible candidates so they tend to accommodate the stragglers.

Numbers-wise, the Corps has stated they need fewer than 40 on the intake for the last four or five years, but funny old thing...as the FSB looms near, that figure has been consistently revised upward. I don't think it's deliberate, but reckon they look at wastage from the last batch and as it increases during training, they need to adjust.

Last year it was initially 40 with 7 added from the reserve list due to wastage in the previous years batch prior to the start of the latest course. 3 or 4 other reserves were added during the first two weeks due to further dropouts. As such, although the original number was 40, around 50 made it onto the batch. Even if you do not make the initial cut, all is not lost!

@Ninja_Stoker Any idea on the last AIB dates for this batch - I’ve been given 26th June which I thought seemed quite late

Pretty sure that'll be the last available date but don't have a definitive list.

    Morning lads,

Just got my POC date which is the 3rd-6th of June. Quite surprised that they’re running so late myself, yet i must admit i am looking forward to AIB & FSB coming shortly after. Last year it was a 6 month wait after completing AIB to hear their final selection which, as you can imagine, was a long 6 months...

Does this mean that FSB has been moved from 22nd June? Cheers, Phoenix.

New member today! Got my POC dates, which happen to be no less than 2 weeks before school exams, brilliant. Can’t wait for the experience and to see how my training pays off!

Confirmed, just double-checked & FSB is indeed 19th July - somehow I missed that change.
